Hi I'm Peter

I've lived all my life in Utah, but am serving a full-time LDS mission in Croatia, Serbia, and Bosnia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read, and probably read too much sometimes. I am a Mechanical Engineering major at BYU, though right now I am not in school. I have taken two years to serve a mission and teach about Christ and His church in the Adriatic North Mission. I also love to play the flute and listen to music.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized because my parents are members. But I have continued in the faith and am devoted to it because I know it is true and good. I have felt the greatest joy in the world from reading, learning, and teaching the gospel of Christ. Even greater joy than I get from playing my flute. Because of this Church I know where I came from, where I am going, and what I need to do here to have the happiest life possible. I know that I will still have trials, but as I trust in the Lord and follow Him, He will direct my paths for good. He already has guided my life in the sunniest path, and He will continue to as I follow him. I love my God, I love Jesus Christ, and I love this His Church. I know with all my heart and mind that this is His true church, restored on the Earth for the happiness of mankind.

How I live my faith

I have always tried to be an "example of the believers" (1 Timothy 4:12), especially in my family. I am the oldest of four children and have always tried to be a good example to my younger siblings. I have noticed how in so many things they look to me--I am often the first opportunity for them to observe how growing up works. In large measure they learn what to expect from high school, college, friends, and church service by looking at what it was like for me. I've noticed that my approach to these things has influenced their approaches and am glad that I have always tried to be a good example to them as well as others around me. The first assignment I had in the church was to be a home teacher. At 14 I was assigned two families in my neighborhood to go and visit and talk with and teach. I learned a lot from them. Whenever possible I have participated in ward choirs and sung songs of faith. When I came back home between my first year of college and my mission I taught a class of eleven year olds in my ward. It was wonderful to be able to help them see little ways of how to have a better life. And now I am devoting all that I have: my talents, energy and time to go and serve the people in my mission and help them to have a better life.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

I am serving a mission because the gospel has brought me the greatest happiness that I have felt, and I want all the world to be able to feel that joy also. Show more Show less
