Hi I'm Elizabeth

I grew up in Idaho, live in Salt Lake City, Utah; work as a nurse; served a mission for the Mormon church. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a Mormon my whole life. I work as a nurse, and I've been married for almost three years. We don't have children yet but hopefully we will have a family soon. I come from a family of 13 kids, so I love having a lot of siblings. Family is very important to me. I love reading, playing different sports, spending time with my husband, and helping others. Being a member of this church has brought me the greatest joy in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that within the LDS church is where we are taught exactly what to do to return to God. I am a Mormon because I know of no other church that has the fulness of the gospel, meaning that there isn't any other church who teaches all of the gospel truths and has all of the proper priesthood authority to perform ordinances like baptism which will help us become worthy to return to Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon because I found out for myself when I was young that this is the only true church on the earth today. I am a Mormon because it brings me great joy to know what the commandments are, to live them, and to enjoy the blessings for being obedient. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I will be the first to admit that I am not perfect in the way I live my faith. I know what I need to do, but I am not always totally obedient. I can say that I am grateful for a Savior who knows what I go through and quickly forgives my shortcomings when I do something wrong. One of the things I have done in life that has showed my faith is by serving as a missionary for the church for 18 months. I spent that time getting to know a lot of people who had not heard about the church or didn't know much about Christ and His teachings. I recently served as a president of the women's organization in the church in my area. It brought me so much joy to serve others and help them come to know Christ.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Elizabeth
I served as a missionary for the church and the reason why I went proselyting was to help others come to know what I know....that Christ is our Savior; that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true church on the earth; that Joseph Smith was the prophet of God chosen to restore the Savior's gospel as it had been established when he was on the earth so long ago. I know that The Book of Mormon is true and really will bring us closer to Christ since it is another testament of Him. I went on a mission because I wanted more people to know about Christ and His gospel as taught in the LDS church. I went on a mission because I felt a responsibility to share what I had learned as a life-long church member. I went on a mission because I love my Savior and wanted others to come to know Him better and to feel His love the way I have felt it in my own life. Show more Show less
