Hi I'm Jacqueline

Born and raised in Canada.I love to laugh, smile and sing. I'm an art loving Wasian and devoted daughter and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am an only child raised in a not so typical Mormon family. My mother and her family converted in the Philippines and when she married my dad, a non-member, she moved to Canada, so I grew up being one of the only members in my family on this side of the world. My dad was still very supportive of the Gospel in my life, I mean what dad out there wouldn't want his daughter waiting until she's sixteen to date? I spent 12 years of my life as a competitive figure skater and athlete in numerous other sports. I also have a love for the arts, especially drawing, music and theatre. I'm passionate about travelling and learning about new cultures and languages. I may have a slight obsession with painting my nails. If I could spend most of my days at the beach, I would! I consider myself a very happy person, I like to brighten peoples days. One day I'm going to change the world, don't know how yet but that's all part of the journey!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because two wonderful Elders knocked on my grandparents door on the other side of the world. They may not have known that they would change my life, but they did! It is because of that and many other reasons that I have such a strong testimony in missionary work. I love being a member missionary, I have seen so many lives changed because someone was willing to open their mouth and share the Gospel! I also have a very strong mother to thank for my life in the church, she raised me on the standards and beliefs that would allow me to become that best possible person I could. She is my rock, always there when I need her and always encouraging me to do the right thing. I am so thankful for the temples and ordinances that the church has that allow us to have eternal families. My family is one of the most important things in my life and I always took the idea of eternal families for granted until my dad died. He wasn't a member so our family was never sealed together in his time here but thanks to sacred ordinances I can still live with my family for all eternity and that is one of the greatest blessings I could have ever been given. My love for the temple has grown so much in the past year as I have come to truly understand and appreciate the blessings that come from within it. My testimony means everything to me, and is the grounds for the person that I am and wish to become as it grows. Life as a Mormon isn't always easy, but I know without a doubt that it is more that worth it!

How I live my faith

Since I was born into and raised in the church my testimony didn't begin to fully develop until I was about 12, when my mom went back to work and had to work most Sundays and I had to make the decision whether or not to go to church alone. It was then that I had to decide if it was all true and really worth it. I decided to go alone as Sunday's just wouldn't feel right spent anywhere else. From there my testimony could only get stronger, every challenge and trial put in my way taught me things about myself and the Gospel that allowed me to grow to be a better person. I try to live my life encouraging others to do the same, to grow in the Gospel and be able to recieve its blessings. I love teaching with the missionaries and watching someones testimony and spirit grow before my very eyes, it's amazing! Who knows maybe one day I'll serve a mission! I try to let my positivity and happiness shine through so others can see what being a part of this church has done for me and what it can do for them as well. I know that this church is true, I have read the Book of Mormon, pondered and prayed about it and I know that this is what is right for me and for everyone else. For every sad moment or trial that I have ever endured I have had hundreds more blessings poured upon me. I have truly been blessed in my life and I feel that one of the only fitting ways to show my true appreciation is to share it with others when ever I get the chance!
