Hi I'm Kaylen

I grew up in Utah. I'm a runner and a drummer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the youngest of three children. I grew up in Utah and spent most of my time either playing sports, playing musical instruments, or mowing lawns with my dad or friend. I love soccer, basketball, track, and cross-country, but overtime running won my heart. I also was the drummer in my high school jazz band and pep band, and absolutely loved it. My family has always held education in a high place, so I've been raised to work hard and do my best. I just finished my first year of college. When I'm not working, studying, or running I'm hanging with friends. I have a miniature dachshund who I love love love, and I love taking her on rides with me in the car. Music is a constant in my life, I can't do anything or go anywhere without listening to my jams. I love music. I love running. I love playing the drums and guitar. I love my family. And I love my dog.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I know it is possible to go through life without being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or following the commandments of Christ, I know that life is so, so much easier when we are disciples of the Lord and follow His commandments. I'm a Mormon because I love all that the gospel offers. This gospel was given to us to help us deal with live's challenges and trials with a more eternal perspective; it makes life brighter, and it makes every load placed upon our shoulders lighter. The Gospel of Jesus Christ gives us help, direction, and guidance. I want that help and direction in my life. I need that direction and guidance in my life. I know this Gospel is true, and I'm a better person because of it, and life is more enjoyable and bearable because of it.

How I live my faith

"By small and simple things, are great things brought to pass" (Alma 37:6). The way I live my faith is nothing particularly grand. We are supposed to follow Christ and His teachings, and become like Him through this life. The biggest, yet sometimes small, way I strive to do those things in my everyday life is by serving others, whether it be holding a door open for someone, saying hello and smiling to a stranger, visiting the elderly, giving someone a compliment, or making someone cookies who you're aware of their heartache. There is nothing in life that I love to do more than serve others. And serving not only benefits those we are serving, but it also benefits us, as the server. Both the server and the one being served have lifted spirits, and both come closer to Christ as a result.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Kaylen
Mormon missionaries proselyte because they want to share the wonderful knowledge we have because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone. This gospel helps people and improves lives, and we have been commanded to go forth and share all that we know with everyone we can and who will listen. Heavenly Father loves all his children immensely and wants each of them to receive this gospel and all it has to offer to us. Show more Show less
