Hi I'm Maddie

I'm an athlete, a soon to be Missionary, a reader, and someone who loves life and all it has to offer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play sports and to coach kids as well. I love to read books and to relax with a movie or television show with my family. I love to travel and to do fun activities with my family and friends. I am a sophomore in college and I am preparing to serve a mission. I love school and learning and nature and the beautiful and good things that this world has in store for me to explore.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to Mormon parents and so I grew up learning about the church and its teachings and practices. Now that I am an adult and can make my own decisions, I continue to follow his gospel as a Mormon. I learned at a pretty young age that My Father in Heaven is real and is aware of me. He helped me when I had was having trouble fitting in at school, and he knew where I needed to be when I needed to be when I started college, and the people that I needed to meet and he knew that the hard things that I went through were things that also happened to people around me so that I could help them get through it as well. He answers my questions and he knows what is best for me and what path I should take.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday in everything I do and say. In my church ward, I teach seven/eight year olds. I teach them the basic principles of our faith and help them understand by answering their questions. I do visiting teaching whenever I can and I help out those in my ward.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Maddie
Men and women are both of equal importance to God. However, He made them differently. They have different strengths and talents, and given to them by God, they have different responsibilities. Men have the responsibility to hold the Priesthood and to work throughout the church using that authority that they have been entrusted. That does not mean that the women are being disadvantaged. Women are still blessed tremendously by those who hold the priesthood. God will not withhold blessings from His children if they are worthy to receive them. So God blesses women through the Priesthood, He just does not require that they hold it and perform the responsibilities that come with it. He has other jobs for the women. Now as far as women leading in the church, they are given a blessing to know the needs of those they are leading and to know how to best help them and lead them. They do this under the direction and spiritual umbrella of the priesthood and those who hold it. Show more Show less
