Hi I'm Emma

I'm from the San Francisco bay area, I'm an undergraduate college student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm a college student, studying neuroscience. After I graduate, I hope to attend medical school and pursue a career in medical research, working with neurodegenerative diseases. I love theatre, singing, traveling, and hanging out with my friends. I'm interested in politics, literature, and history.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a devout LDS family, but I wasn't sure if I'd stay in the church until I was thirteen. I read the Book of Mormon at the behest of my bishop, who promised to take the youth on a skiing trip if we all completed it. I took him up on the offer, mostly for the promise of a fun weekend with friends, but I got so much more. I received a witness from the spirit of the truth of the Book of Mormon and the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and from that day I have tried my best to live it. Being a Mormon and following the teachings of this gospel has made my life infinitely better, and has helped me through my own trials. In short, I am a Mormon because I love it.

How I live my faith

For me, my faith isn't something I practice only on Sundays; its a central part of my life. Right now, I'm preparing to serve a mission by working each day on rereading the Book of Mormon and studying its teachings in a more in depth way. I also often play piano for our church meetings, and plan and lead lessons and discussions on occasion.
