Hi I'm Gay Ferney

I grew up in Rexburg, ID. I am a wife, mother, and granny. I love being a homemaker and enjoy outdoor activities with my family.

About Me

I was born and raised in Rexburg, Idaho. I married my high school sweetheart and we raised three children, eight horses, and one big black, furry, dog named Ted. After working as a secretary at an elementary school, I moved on to be a Registrar's Clerk at BYU-I for the next ten years. Besides learning, I enjoy cooking, sewing, gardening, decorating, snow skiing, boating, and cruising on the back of a motorcycle with my husband. But, my favorite thing in the world is being a grandmother. I am crazy about our 14 grandchildren. Currently, I enjoy being a housewife. We just received our mission call and will be serving in the Philippines, Quezon City mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who are Mormon. I know that I am a child of God and that I was created in His image. I believe that because our Father in Heaven loved us so much that He provided a way for us to come to earth, gain a body, be tested, and return back to Him. I believe that Jesus Christ volunteered to come to the world, be crucified for the world, and to sanctify the world. By accepting Christ's Atonement and placing faith in Him, we can repent of our sins, be baptized, receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and choose to obey His commandments. We are forgiven and cleansed from sin and can be prepared to return and live forever with our Heavenly Father. I believe that Joseph Smith saw in a vision the Father and the Son. That he translated the Book of Mormon and restored the Priesthood keys. That the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know the purpose of the Book of Mormon is to bring men to Christ. I have read the Book of Mormon several times and the Holy Spirit has testified to me it's truthfulness. I know that it was written for us in our day. I believe that everything we do in the church leads us to the temple so that we can live worthy to return to our Father in Heaven and gain eternal life as families. That we can perform ordinances and make covenants for the dead whom did't have the opportunity to go to the temple and do the work for themselves. To me, living the gospel is absolutely the best way of life. We can pray for blessings and receive answers to our prayers. We are entitled to revelation through seeking the Holy Ghost and qualifying ourselves by being worthy. We have a living Prophet today that is the spokesperson for God. He teaches truth and he receives revelations and directions from the Lord for our benefit. He may see into the future and foretell coming events so that the world may be warned. I am so grateful to be a Mormon!

How I live my faith

At a very young age, I was taught gospel principles. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world so I try to live each day by following His example. I know that by making good choices, and following the commandments, I can progress, be blessed and prepare for eternal life. When I make poor decisions, I can repent and be forgiven through the atonement of our Savior. I pray each day for the Holy Ghost to be my companion and help guide me. I study the scriptures so I can apply them to my life and increase my knowledge of the Savior, His attributes, and His mission here on earth. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and he translated the Book of Mormon. He restored the Priesthood keys which had all been taken from the earth, back to us. By keeping the ordinances and covenants we make in the temple, and by enduring to the end, I can qualify for eternal live and be reunited with my family forever. I worship each Sunday and partake of the Sacrament to renew those covenants each week. I willingly accept callings in the church, teach, serve, and pay an honest tithe. I keep the Word of Wisdom and strive to keep my body and mind healthy and clean. Currently, I am preparing to serve a mission in the Philippine, Quezon City mission with my husband. I want to work hard and share the gospel so others can experience the joy and peace that comes from living the gospel.
