Hi I'm Belén

I'm from Utah. I love the outdoors. I love laughing. I love my family. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am from Utah and just recently graduated high school. I am preparing to serve in the Montevideo, Uruguay mission to preach the gospel. I love being outside, whether I'm skiing, hiking, swimming, fishing, or camping. My friends and family mean everything to me. Making people smile is what I live for. I love doing anything sports related and I love being active. I will be going to BYU Provo when I return home from my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are strong members of the church. Growing up in Utah, where there are a lot of Mormons, isn't always as easy as it sounds. There are still people who make fun of your beliefs and standards. When I was younger I never questioned what my parents and church leaders were teaching me about the gospel, and whether or not it was true. However, as I grew older it seemed that more people were attacking my faith, requiring me to strengthen my testimony. I could no longer rely on my parent's testimonies, so I found out for myself whether the gospel doctrines were true. I strengthened my relationship with the Lord and read the scriptures daily. I prayed about specific questions I had about the gospel, and opened my heart to allow the Holy Ghost to teach me. I can now say that I know for myself that God lives. That the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church. I know Jesus Christ died not only for everyone who has ever lived, but for me personally. I know that Heavenly Father knows me and cares about me, and only wants whats best for His children. Knowing all of these things has helped me get through the tough times in life. Knowing that there is a God, loving and watching out for you, brings such an amazing feeling. Ever since I have made a better effort to be obedient and more Christ-like, it has made my days so much better. I have been a much kinder and happier person. I have been closer to the Savior than I ever have before. I am so thankful to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Each week I teach a Sunday School class of three and four year olds. There is a lot of information in the gospel, but they get the most simplified versions. I enjoy sharing my testimony with them and letting them know that the Savior loves them. Personally, I strive to read my scriptures and pray to Heavenly Father each day to maintain a strong relationship with Him. I try to listen to the promptings I receive from the Holy Ghost each day to become the best me that I can become.
