Hi I'm Moneka Frazier

I'm a sophomore in college. I'm a martial artist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family is from Guam, which means I'm Chamorro.I started going to the Church of Jesus- Christ of Latter-Day Saints around the age of 6 because of my mother's conversion towards the church. I technically grew up mormon, but my family was Catholic before. My extended family is all Catholic. I grew up traveling the world and being exposed to different cultures. I've lived in Las Vegas, Saudi Arabia, Michigan, and Oklahoma. My interests are in arts/crafts, sports, making music, and hanging out with friends. I love Asian Dramas. I've been training in a martial arts style called Kajukenbo since I was 3 years old. Since I'm 19 its been about 15-16 years. I have a 1st degree black belt and have been a student-teacher for about 5-6 years. I've also have a goal to be a commission officer in the Air Force after graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor in Aerospace Engineering.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I had to go to church with my mother every Sunday, I found a love for the gospel just as my mother did. I couldn't ask for a better place to go every Sunday to praise my Heavenly Father. I know that if it wasn't for my mother's interest I wouldn't be where I am today. I've blossomed as a young women through the help of the leaders in the church and through friends who share the same standards as I do. The world can be a scary place, with temptations, full of regrets, and mistakes. I recognized my Heavenly Father's love for me and how much Jesus Christ sacrificed to let me be happy and fully repent, that I may live with God again. Not every thing is easy, but I know Jesus Christ will comfort me through those tough times. I testify that the full gospel was restored on Earth by Joseph Smith during the 1800s. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. If you haven't read it, I recommend that you at least try to and ask God if it is another testament of Jesus Christ. I believe that there is a true prophet living on the Earth today and that he receives revelation from God to help guide us. I have gone through many trials and will continue to go through them because that's life. We have a purpose on Earth and that's to regain our knowledge and faith in our Heavenly Father. Even though it will be tough, I know I can make it with the help with Heavenly Father and in his son Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I've participated in youth activities by helping serve others through service in the community. I've helped with the organizing called "mormon helping hands", during the tornado in Moore, OK back in 2013. In the Young Women's program which ranges from ages 12-18, I've helped with summer camp programs and assisted with organizing classes or activities which the program helps with individual progress in the faith in Christ for young girls. Ever since my mom opened the door to missionaries in Las Vegas I've always wanted to to become a missionary. I've recently got my full-time mission call to Germany. I will be serving an 18 month mission learning the language and the culture.
