Hi I'm Jan

I grew up in California & joined the church at age 15. I have one daughter and 5 grandchildren ranging in age from 22 to 15.

About Me

I have been a Realtor for 35 years and have loved my job! Helping people find the right home for their family has been a fun and rewarding career. I love family and being a wife, mom and a Grandmother has been the most fulfilling thing in my life. I love the outdoors and I love sewing! I started quilting several years ago and that is my all time favorite hobby! Put me in a room with some music, a lot of fabric, a sewing machine and I am a very happy woman. I also love wool applique and embroidery. My husband and I really enjoy traveling and are looking forward to spending 2018 and part of 2019 in Melborne, Australia serving the Lord on a full time mission. It's an exciting time of life and there are lots of changes happening!

Why I am a Mormon

At the age of 15, after completing my religious training through a series of classes, I felt I understood my religion specifically..... but was honestly a little bit unsure about what I thought about God and about my Savior. I had two young Mormon missionaries knock on my door and at that point, my parents allowed me to take the missionary discussions. Suddenly, everything clicked into focus and I had a deep and rather earthshaking understanding of The Godhead, the fact that this church was formed in the same way the church existed in the time of the Savior...... and that THIS, was the true church and on the earth today. That it was reorganized through modern and direct revelation from heaven to a young man named Joseph Smith. If God the Father and Jesus Christ spoke to this young man and found him worthy to reorganize the church, wasn't I was so blessed to be able to recognize the truth and to be able to be a member myself? I was baptized with my parents permission and it has been the greatest influence in my life. All of the very best things in my life have come to me because of my membership in His church and I am so grateful to be a Mormon! I LOVE being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I love serving in the church! I have done quite a few things and have loved them all. I have worked with the teenage girls in a Young Women's program, I have worked with the small children as a music chorister - teaching children about Jesus and the gospel of Jesus Christ by teaching them songs that I know they will remember their whole lives. I have served in the women's program and have been the leader in that women's group. I know that as I have served and loved and become friends with women of all ages and backgrounds, that I have learned so much about our Savior and how he wants us to serve and love each other. I have worked with our interfaith council in our county and we have had some amazing programs and opportunities to work with people of all faiths. To learn about the beliefs of others has been wonderful! I think that I have been put here on earth to serve others. To love them and to learn and to try to become more like my Savior. I have so much more to learn but I try each day to do what he Lord would have me do. To work and love and serve!
