Hi I'm Jonah Hayes

Born in Las Vegas. Now live in Utah. I'm LDS

About Me

I grew up with divorced parents but still had an incredibly happy life. I love my family and reading. I enjoy playing video games and going shooting. I plan on going to college after my mission at SUU.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church. I didn't always have a very strong belief in the doctrine and principles taught by the church but it was when I was challenged in seminary, to actually try and gain my own faith that I realized through a lot of work that this Church is true. Our Heavenly Father loves us more than we could ever know and wants to spend eternity with us. He gives us all the rules and commandments to keep us safe from harmful addictions or actions that would lead us to major hardships in our lives.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday and pay my full tithing. I always look for opportunities to serve my neighbors and family.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Jonah Hayes
When we go to church we wear our "Sunday best" This is your usual formal dress making sure you look clean, well kept, and modest. We dress this way to show respect for our Lord in his house. We celebrate Christmas and Easter. These two holidays are very important and spiritual to us because they represent the birth, suffering, death, and Resurrection of Jesus. We also celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and national holidays. Show more Show less
