Hi I'm Brittany

I'm from Utah. I love learning, developing my talents to help others, and all the wonderful people in my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a large family of 11 kids. I have learned a lot about life for my age because of my experiences and because of the many great examples I have in my life. I have been amazed at the way my life has been unfolding. I am an emotional release facilitator, a musician, an artist, and a friend to everyone that knows me. After I get back from the LDS mission I will be serving soon, I will be a college student, a wife, a mother, and many more things.

Why I am a Mormon

Only a year and a half ago I was in a miserable spiritual and emotional state. I doubted everything I learned growing up in the Church and was very angry at God because of the unfortunate events that were happening in my life and I soon started to doubt His very existence. I didn't see how my life could ever get better and I lost hope. But Heavenly Father had compassion on me, loved me infinitely and entirely, and led me to a path where I could understand and apply the healing atonement of Jesus Christ. Little did I know that the difficult events in my life were just a refiner's fire for the amazing things God had planned out for me. Because of what I've learned this past year I have found treasures you can't put a price on. I have found the way that God had prepared for me, the truth I've been searching for, and the light my soul has longed for. I have been saved from that awful hell I was in. I am overflowing with these treasures and I have an intrinsic need to share it with everyone else. This gospel means absolutely everything to me and there isn't anything I wouldn't sacrifice for it. I know that Heavenly Father's plan is perfect and every detail in His design emanates the immeasurable love He has for each of His children. I know that the Savior willingly sacrificed His life so that all of God's children could have the opportunity to obtain eternal happiness. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the one and only true church and that it has been restored here upon the earth. I know the Book of Mormon testifies of these truths and contains the word of God. Because I have this testimony that burns within me, there isn't an obstacle that could stand in my way of spreading the truth through the Holy Spirit. The truth sets us free and that's what every person wants deep down. I want every person I meet to have the opportunity to know of these things for themselves because it will breathe life into their souls.

How I live my faith

I participate in my faith in lots of ways. Currently I am a church teacher over all the adult women in my ward, I visit and teach a few wonderful ladies in my ward each month, I attend a missionary preparation class twice a month, I attend the nearest LDS temple almost every week to assist in the work of God, I bear my testimony in church all the time, I serve others, and soon I will leave everything behind to serve an LDS mission in another state to teach others the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Brittany
The truth is that everybody already knows our Father in Heaven on a spiritual level. Afterall, he is our Father and we lived in His presence before coming here to Earth. However, to consciously come to know him will take some work. Think of a friend or someone you're close with. How did you come to know them? You have conversations, you find things in common, you invest your time into each other, you sacrifice and eliminate things that We can develop and strengthen our relationship with Heavenly Father in a similar way. In a conversation, we talk and listen. You can talk to God through prayer and you can listen by reading the scriptures which are sacred books that contain His doctrine. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Brittany
Before we came to Earth we lived in Heaven. We can't remember it now but back then we were aware that we would exist forever, even after Earth life. The choices we made in Heaven, and especially the choices we make here on earth, will decide the kind of life we will live for the rest of eternity. Most of us desired to be happy, full of love, feel permanent fulfillment, and experience true freedom. Therefore, God represented a perfect plan that could help us achieve our desires individually. One of the steps in His plan is to come here to Earth. For those of us who chose to come to Earth, it allows us to receive a physical body, exercise agency to choose between good and evil, learn and gain experience that will help us become more like God, and form family relationships that may become eternal. What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Brittany
The definition of the word "atone" is to make amends, repair, and make up for. That's exactly what Jesus Christ did for every person that has ever existed, exists today, or ever will exist. As humans, we all make mistakes, make bad choices, have negativity, and are imperfect spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically. These things separate us from God, our Father in Heaven. But Jesus, even though he was perfect, suffered for and felt all of our pains in the Garden of Gethsemane. This event is known as the atonement. Because of His sacrifice, it is possible to live with God again if we have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, repent, are baptized, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, and endure to the end.
