Hi I'm Jennifer

I love learning and being a mom and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have seven children (your, mine, and ours). I take college classes through BYU-Idaho. I love the outdoors and enjoying God's creations. Some things that are important to me are family relations and making sure each of my kids knows how much they are loved. My hobbies are hiking, quilting, reading, and sitting in my front porch swing with my daughters enjoying the beautiful night sky. I love to travel and learn about different places. I love, love, love baseball. I try to take advantage of opportunities to learn new things. I grew up on the East Coast of the United States and love living in the Rocky Mountains.

Why I am a Mormon

I haven't always been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Now, I can't imagine what my life would be like without the knowledge I have of my Savior. I know I can turn to Him for peace amidst trials, for direction, and for comfort. I know my Savior loves me, because I have felt His love. He has strengthened me in times of trial and He helps me resist evil. Being a Mormon teaches me to follow my Savior by serving others, reaching out and lifting the hands that hang down, and helping others know that Jesus Christ sacrificed his life for them just like He did for me. It has been an anchor in a sea of darkness.

How I live my faith

Each day, I try to have a positive impact wherever I go and whoever I come in contact with. I believe everyone needs a friend and I try to be everyone's friend. When I go to church, I go to learn about my Savior, Jesus Christ, and what I can do in my life to better follow His example. At church, I love teaching the 10 year olds about Jesus Christ. I work with teenagers at my local high school and am amazed at the great generation of youth on the Earth today. I volunteer in my community and love being involved. I plan to further serve my Heavenly Father by serving a mission for my church with my husband after he retires, so we can teach others about Jesus Christ.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Jennifer
Just like the family is the basic unit of society, the family is central to God's Plan of Happiness or Plan of Salvation. The most important learning goes on in the family. Because of the importance of the family in God's plan, He makes it possible for us to have our family relationships continue after we leave our earthly existence. God has given us families to help us navigate our earthly existence so we can return to live with Him. We are His spirit children and He wants us to be happy here and through eternity. What is the Book of Mormon?

Jennifer
In the Bible, we learn that Christ told the Jews that He had other sheep that He must visit. The Book of Mormon is a record of Christ's other sheep. They lived on the American Continent. This record begins just before Jerusalem was captured by Babylon. The Jews had become wicked and prophets were being killed. Before this siege, a prophet named Lehi was commanded by God to take his family and go into the wilderness to avoid being captured and/or killed by the Babylonians and to preserve His people. The Book of Mormon, along with the Bible, testifies of Christ's existence and of His teachings and Atonement. Show more Show less
