Hi I'm Joshua Jauregui

I'm a bioengineer, an avid reader, a scientist, an all around nerd, and a I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love learning, especially when it comes to science with biomedical engineering being something that I want to pursue as a career. I also love to read a lot be it fiction or nonfiction from books on the history of scientific development and primitive technology to epic fantasy and sci-fi. I also love running, writing and gardening.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into the church my parents made it clear that I was free to choose what I believed. As someone with a scientific and inquisitive mind I always try to find out whether what I believe is true or not. I am not someone who minds finding out that I am wrong about because I always want to make sure that my beliefs are based on fact and am perfectly willing to discard any previous beliefs in favor of what I have discovered to be true. My faith is no different, I studied the scriptures, history and even cultural customs throughout my life finding many truths that helped to build my testimony. Over the course of my studies I came across things that had caused many others to fall away from the church and yet as someone who is not content to simply scratch at the surface of knowledge that I come across I found that after remaining diligent in my investigations my testimony remained unshaken, in fact much of the information actually strengthened my testimony. Many accusations turned out to be false, others turned out to be true but didn't matter because rather than being about the gospel they were about individuals within the church and as someone who does not delude myself by wearing rose colored glasses I know perfectly well that not a single member of the church is perfect and that most of us aren't even close. Some of the information was even what one who had truly both studied scripture and history would expect if the gospel were true but might seem damming to those who had not studied. I have another firm foundation for my testimony. I have done as both the scriptures and prophets invite and have prayed sincerely asking if any of it was true, both to see if God was indeed there as well as to see if this was his church and I can not deny the answers I received, I still do not know everything but I know enough to know that this church is true and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I help to tutor students who may be struggling with a certain subject, help neighbors move in or out, help people with home projects and when people are ill I help them with housekeeping.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Joshua Jauregui
We believe that the purpose of life is to come to earth to receive a body so that we could grow and develop to become more like our Heavenly Father of our own free will and to have the opportunity to form family relationships that will span throughout eternity. As the scriptures say man are that they might have joy and we seek to have joy not only in this life but for the life after this one as well. Show more Show less
