Hi I'm Jamie

I'm a Mormon called to serve in the Georgia, Atlanta North Mission.

About Me

I am currently a college student studying special education. I teach myself piano and guitar and love to read and write.

Why I am a Mormon

A fundamental part of knowing why I choose to be a Mormon lies in knowing about one very specific and important night of my life. On this night I was separated from volatile drug-addicted parents and taken in by my aunt and uncle, who introduced me to the church. This experience changed my world completely, and while it has been challenging I can clearly see how it has enriched my life and my character. As I consider the events of that night I am always struck by the realization that everything that happened shouldn’t have. I should have been put into foster care, but instead I was taken into a home where I would learn and have the unyielding support of a loving family. I should have been separated from my brother, who I loved more than anyone, but we stayed together and we remain best friends to this day. The police officer in charge could have been fired for practically giving away two kids to complete strangers who had no proof that they could provide for us, but he did it anyways. All the signs show I should have met a very different fate that night, but because these fortunate events (which I know were undoubtedly guided by the hand of a mindful God) took place the world was practically laid at my feet. I was given the chance to make something of myself and to be an influence of good. I have seen the hand of God directly in my life, and I cannot deny that He put me on the Gospel path for a reason. Each day I see how Heavenly Father plays a part in my life and I know He is aware of me and that He is proud of the choices I have made to be a faithful member of His church.

How I live my faith

I am a family home evening leader in my young single adults ward. I am preparing to serve my mission in Georgia and try to find an opportunity every day to share my testimony.
