Hi I'm Whitney

I grew up in California. I love to sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am studying to be a music therapist at BYU Idaho. I play the guitar, ukelele, and piano. I love everything music including dancing, playing instruments, and best of all singing. I have been in choir for many years. I am the oldest child of five. I am the first child and grand child to go on a full-time mission for my church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this church because I know it is true and I love my Heavenly Father. I grew up in the church, but I have not always had a testimony. I did not get my testimony until I started to act in faith and see the blessings that come from doing the things the Lord has asked me to do. The Lord does not ask us to do things we will ultimately fail at. With the Lord's help, we can do all things. I have found this to be true in my life. I did not get my testimony all at once. I got a testimony a little at a time. As I act in faith and do the things the Lord has asked of me, he gives me confirmation that what I am doing is right through the Holy Spirit. This gospel gives me peace and joy. My faith is what makes me who I am. I am thankful for my Heavenly Father and for Jesus Christ, and I show my love for them by doing what they ask of me. Jesus Christ, my savior, has atoned for my sins, and has felt everything I and everyone else has felt. He atoned for my sins, because he loves me, and wants me to be able to return home to my Heavenly Father. All He wants is for me to be happy and at peace, not just after I die, but even in this life that can be so hard to find peace in. I know that there was a time after Christ's death and resurrection where there was no priesthood authority on the earth. I know God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith when he did what the Bible said and asked God what church is true. I know that through the power of God, Joseph Smith was able to restore the Gospel, so that we in the latter-days may have the truth and the proper authority of the priesthood again. I know I lived in heaven before I came down to this earth. I can live there again after I die and am resurrected if I choose to keep the commandments of God. I know the Gospel is true.

How I live my faith

My previous callings include being the ward music chairman and chorister. I have also been a visiting teacher. I am about to serve a mission for my church.
