Hi I'm Rachel

Im from Portland Oregon, Im serving a mission in Calgary Canada, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born and raised in the same house in Portland, Oregon. I enjoy anything in the outdoors, whether its camping, sight seeing, or just a walk on the beach, I'm there. I enjoy being with those I love, and spending quality time with others is something I thrive from. I attended school in Salt Lake City studying to be a nurse, being in a spirit-enriched environment, I was impressed to serve a mission soon after my first semester. Months later here I am, with a mission call to Calgary Canada, and have been growing with the gospel ever since.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into the church and got baptized at a young age, the church has always influenced my life for the better. I strive everyday to be more converted to Christs gospel. Personal conversion is more than just being baptized and following doctrine, it's being able to use the gospel to turn around from trial or trouble. I continue to follow the gospel because I know through doing so comes blessings, big or small, changes lives forever. I simply cannot imagine my life without the gospel. I would like to bear my testimony of the restored gospel. It is so undeniably true. It has shaped me into who I am today. Id also like to testify of Christ's atonement and how it brings true joy to those who let Christ in, it is the single greatest gift to be able to change and repent and live with God again, through his teachings. I know that there is a living prophet on the earth today, being God's mouthpiece to testify the truth unto us. I know the book of Mormon is the word of God and another testament of our brother Jesus Christ, line upon line, precept upon precept, teaching us how to follow Christ, and endure to the end. I am so very grateful for the opportunity to serve a mission and wear Christs name. d

How I live my faith

I live my faith by building others. Helping others has always been so important to me. In the summer of 2016 I went abroad to Cape Verde, Africa on a humanitarian trip affiliated with the church. I was among a group of teenagers my age, the main goal being to build homes and teach English for those in need. It was really a once in a lifetime experience and I learned so much about service, and what it really means to love as Christ did. That trip along with many other things has brought me to where I am today. I am serving a mission for the church very soon and could not be more excited to bring the light of Christ into the lives of those who had not known of his true gospel.
