Hi I'm Laicee

I grew up in Utah. I did Spelling Bees. I love my family. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am getting ready to leave for an LDS Mission! Some of my hobbies are dancing, singing, drawing, writing poetry, and learning words from languages. I love art. It is my absolute passion! I have done spelling bees and am not a big fan of heights (I love riding on planes though!) , spiders, and roller coasters!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and my family would go every Sunday! One day, my family just kind of....stopped going when I was about nine years old. My life had become a little hectic five years after I stopped going to church. I became sick with pneumonia, healed, yet, remained sick from depression and anxiety. I lost weight and doctor's couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. I decided to start going to church alone. On Sunday's I would make my way to the church and learn so much and feel indescribable peace and comfort. I knew that it was God reaching out to me and telling me that this was what I need for my life to find comfort throughout my trials! I made the decision to keep going, especially once my grandma passed away. She was another mom to me and gave me so much strength and taught me that hard things can bring growth and light. I know that this church is where I am supposed to be! I know through prayer all answers can be found! I know God has a prophet on this Earth today! I know that God and His Son love each of us and knows our hearts and yearns to bless us as we strive to become like them on this path!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by simply going to church every Sunday! I am the only one who is really active out of my family! Some of the callings (Positions that are purely voluntary and given out of inspiration by the bishop or church leader.) I have received are First Counselor, 2nd Counselor, and Family History Consultant. (Though Teacher may be better!) The counselor's watch out for the member's who are struggling and find ways to serve and help them out! The Family History stuff nearly explains itself! I was trained on how to use the Family History site and teach others who were interested in their own Family History!

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Laicee
Being one who is getting ready for their own mission I wanted to answer this question! Missionary work is voluntary and up to the person to decide! We all have that ability to choose. (Which we call Agency.) Each person's reason for serving is different, sometimes it's to help that individual grow more with faith, maybe it's to bring blessings to the family, or it's simply just the want to love and serve everyone they meet.
