Hi I'm Lylene

I grew up on a farm in Southeast Idaho. I am a homemaker, mother, and office assistant. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of six children and the grandmother of 24. I also have 2 great grandchildren. I have worked in education most of my adult life. I love music and enjoy singing. I enjoy sewing, quilting, reading, crafting and family history. I love spending time with family and friends. I am proud of my heritage and the sacrifices made by those who came before me who have made this life so much easier and enjoyable for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My ancestors were early members of the church and sacrificed much for their membership. My continued activity in our church brings me great joy. I can feel my Savior's love for me everyday as I try to be aware of the blessings I receive. The gospel has helped give me direction in my life. I know where I came from, why I am here and where I will go when this mortal life is over. I know I can have my family with me forever and this brings such peace, hope, and joy. The gospel has helped me teach my family good morals and give them advice and direction about how to live. The gospel has given me opportunities to help others with their journey through life. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who is real and who loves me. I know that His Son, Jesus Christ, came to earth as an example to me. I know He is my Savior. I know that He suffered for my sins and was crucified. I know He was resurrected and that because of this, I can repent and have eternal life. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet and that he had a vision in which he saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. I know that he continued to get direction from the Lord as he translated the Book of Mormon and restored this gospel. I know that prayers are answered and that the Holy Ghost comforts and witnesses truths to me as I seek his companionship. I know that this church is God’s restored church on the earth with all of the authority, offices, principles, and ordinances needed to return to Him. I know that we have a living prophet and apostles today to lead and guide us in truth. They will help us make right choices and help us know the things we need to do to stay on the path back to our Heavenly Father. I have felt the burning in my bosom, sometimes sought and sometimes quite unexpected, as I have received a witness of these things through the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I have been involved in helping the schools my children have attended. I have directed fund raisers, back to school nights, and volunteered in the classroom. I have taught the children, youth, and adults in my church. I have also participated in musical groups. I have done many service projects, prepared programs, organized activities and meals, and offered compassionate service through the woman's organization of our church. I have helped in election campaigns and volunteered for other activities in my community.
