Hi I'm Kam

I'm a graphic designer and illustrator, musical cast member, Master Knight, college student, a homeschooler and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was home-schooled for my entire K-12 education. I've always known I was loud and obnoxious but that's never really been a big problem as I usually have a smile on my face (Being home-schooled and not having to live up to social expectations was a huge factor for this). My parents wanted to home-school my six siblings and I because they wanted us to choose our own education. Because of their foresight, I've been in 9 performing groups, graphic design freelanced for 7 years, been involved in an educational, religious centered day camp for boys called Mastering Knighthood for 8 years (I held the title of Master Knight and know how to use a foam sword)(poorly), I interned at the Utah Capitol for 2 legislative terms with a lobbyist group, finished my first year at BYU Provo as a Fine Arts student, and I'm currently putting it all on hold for my two year proselyting mission for the LDS church.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of the Plan of Salvation. I'm a Mormon because of the rich theology found in the Mormon church. I love the detail in explaining why I'm here and how I fit into the world. This gospel gives me daily purpose and a vision for my future. There have been times when I didn't think I needed Christ's love, grace, and spirit in my life, but as I distanced myself from Christ, I also distance myself from those feelings of comfort and purpose that I find so essential day to day. I find that as I come to church every Sunday and as I read my scriptures and commune with God I feel more happiness than I ever thought possible.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping out where I can. Although I've been a secretary and a volunteer coordinator at my local church, I find that the place I'm able to make the most impact is with my family and friends. I'm a firm believer in the statement that the best way to get love is to give it. As I call friends and family on a daily basis and offer my support, I find myself feeling closer with the Savior and his all-encompassing love. Really, I think it all comes down to three things: 1. Daily prayer and communion with God (I love to just tell God everything, I usually can't stop laughing after the first few minutes of prayer because I just feel so good inside) 2. Daily scripture study when you first wake up 3. Service to those who come into your life
