Hi I'm Emery

I feel like I belong when I look at the stars. I enjoy capturing little things in life with my Camera. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in a LDS home where the expectations were Church and Family time. It wasn't until I reached my teenage years that I really questioned this life style. I decided to test if what my parents taught me was true. I learned for myself of the truth by reading the Book of Mormon. I went on to High school. I was a a half time high school student and half time college student. I graduated with my associates degree in general studies before I graduated high school. After that I determined to serve a LDS mission. Some of my hobbies include interior design, soccer, running, photography, camping, hiking, fishing, spending time with my dogs and cat, crafts, and cleaning.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a LDS home where the expectations were Church and Family time. It wasn't until I reached my teenage years that I really questioned this life style. I decided to test if what my parents taught me was true. I started reading the Book of Mormon with a open mind and willing heart. I got to the end. One the last teachings contains a challenge to ask God if these things are true. "and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost" (Moroni 10:4) So I asked of God. I prayed several times through out the next month because my answer did not come right away. One evening I prayed again and I got this overwhelming feeling of peace and comfort, I had the impression that I already knew that is was true and I just had to live it. Since then I have continually read and pondered the Book of Mormon. I have also never been afraid to ask of God about anything. I continue in His gospel because I know for myself the truth of his scripture and his gospel. I know I can ask in Faith about anything and I will revive my answer even if it takes longer then I want. Since then I have prayed about many questions in life and every time I have gotten a answer that is insightful and specific for me and my situation. And it is because of this I know serving a mission is the correct choice for me.

How I live my faith

I have a calling that is teaching a class of 10 and 11 year-old's. I teach in a companionship with another member that is my age. We are both preparing to serve full time missions so the opportunity to teach others is very valuable to me.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Emery
Mormon missionaries proselyte to share the love of God with everyone. They find joy in knowing that God loves them. They feel peace when they have a truthful knowledge about the plan of Happiness that our Father in Heaven has given us. Missionary work is about sharing this good message with all that want to hear it. Show more Show less
