Hi I'm Matt

I am a husband and father of two children. Currently, I am training to be an ear, nose, throat doctor. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Between church, family, and school I am very busy. The responsibilities of being a member of the church, a husband and father, and a student are important to me. I want to be a supportive husband, and when my kids are grown up and move out of the house I hope my wife and I have prepared them well for life’s challenges. To support my family, I am training to become an otolaryngologist or an ear nose throat doctor. It seems as though my to-do list is never blank, but I try to enjoy each moment with my family, friends, and colleagues.

Why I am a Mormon

I continue to be a member of the church because I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I’ve read it several times now and have received answers to my prayers that it is true. Reading it, along with the Bible, each day brings peace to my busy life. The gospel of Christ, as taught in both the Book or Mormon and the Bible, blesses my marriage and family.

How I live my faith

Christ taught that we should love one another. I make the effort to show respect for others, despite whatever opinions or biases I may have. I believe that each person is unique, no matter what their beliefs are. Everyone experiences challenges and needs a friend to validate their concerns and worries and to show support. At home, I try to make my family my top priority. Together, my wife and I teach our children to pray and to share with each other. We read Bible and Book of Mormon stories to them. At the hospital, I strive to treat patients as I would hope my family’s doctors would treat them. In the end, I hope that in each aspect of my life I am showing love and respect for all. To show that Christ loves us, he suffered for our sins and sicknesses. He asks us to show love for Him and others. I know that when I show love for others that I am showing love for Him.
